Win President & CEO @ChrisCQuinn joined @MonicaMoralesTV on @PIX11News to discuss the growing crisis facing homeless families in NYC and the urgent need to support mothers and young children with stable housing, critical resources, and community care.
Family homelessness affects thousands of children and expectant mothers each year, including nearly 4,000 babies born in NYC shelters—highlighting both the scale of the crisis and the urgent need for action.
Addressing family homelessness requires cross-sector partnership and shared commitment. Win’s recent collaborations with @Amazon, @StubHub, & the @NYLiberty reflect a shared mission to confront the growing family homelessness crisis impacting thousands of NYC mothers & children.
The @NYCMayor's Executive Budget abandons the promised expansion of #CityFHEPS, leaving thousands of families at risk of remaining in shelter. Amid record housing unaffordability, NYC should invest in proven solutions that move families into permanent housing.
Expanding CityFHEPS could save NYC up to $635M in shelter costs over 5 years by moving families from shelter to permanent housing. Win has long supported this as a cost-effective approach to addressing homelessness, grounded in fiscal responsibility & the realities families face.
In response to Mayor @ZohranKMamdani's Executive Budget, which did not include an expansion of the program, Win CEO @ChrisCQuinn issued a statement underscoring the urgency of acting on #CityFHEPS expansion. It is now day 463 since @ZohranKMamdani promised to expand CityFHEPS and day 49 since the Mamdani administration chose litigation over implementation. Every extra day in court is another day families remain in shelter. #CityFHEPSNOW
