Today, over 150,000 New Yorkers are experiencing homelessness, and more than 175,000 households are at risk of eviction and, potentially, homelessness. The HAVP legislation would allocate $250 million — less than one-tenth of a percent of New York State’s FY 2024 Budget — to provide vouchers for New Yorkers in every corner of the state who are moving out of shelter or at risk of becoming homeless.
